Welcome to Carolina Fernandez, the site for adorable kids' wearable art, designed and handpainted with loving care by the
most discriminating artists. We are a business twelve years old, formed when my third child and only daughter, Cristina,
was a mere six months of age, to satisfy my need to find wonderful, whimsical clothing for her. Visits to the local boutiques
left me frustrated by the lack of choices for special children's clothing at affordable prices. My friends' children
were also having birthday parties right and left, and I felt the need to give presents that were both well-loved as well as
within my budget. Again, I experienced frustration by the limited selections I faced in expensive children's boutiques.
So one day, out of the blue, for my best friend's son's birthday, I painted him a pair of tennis shoes, with rocket ships
and airplanes in bright, happy colors. Soon his siblings insisted on a pair as well, as did the kids at the country club where
he proudly wore them to the pool. After giving away about forty pair to my friends' kids who saw these shoes, my husband
suggested that I begin a business selling my own line of children's clothing and shoes. Today, as the mother of four
children, I still design brightly colored, whimsical clothing for infants and young children. I love seeing girls with huge,
floppy polka-dotted hairbows, coordinated with brightly colored tops and bottoms, with ribbons in their shoes to match. Frogs
hopping across bellies and cows mooing down sleeves hold enormous appeal to my artistic sensibilities. Of course, clothing
for young children must also be designed with laundering and longevity in mind as well. Comfort and affordability are other
design criteria. After clothing hundreds of satisfied, repeat customers, I can assure you that these considerations have all
been addressed. So enter my world with me, and see if you, too, can bring joy to the life of a child!
